I've had the 60A3000 for almost 3 months now. Its been great so far, but recently I've noticed that while watching time warner hi-def channels the screen will flash to complete black for about 1 second every 30 seconds or so. It seems to happen only on the high definition channels and not on standard channels. It doesn't happen every day either, just seems pretty random. It could be fine for a weeek or so and then all of a sudden start flashing black one day. Anyone else had this problem or know what it may be. Is it just time warner or perhaps something is wrong with my set, or maybe the settings i have it set to are wrong. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

These tv's flash when they are going back and forth between resolutions. Could that be it.
When I'm am watching a HD channel and then go to a SD one, the screen goes black and you can hear an audible "click". It will even do it if the show is HiDef and the commercials are Sd... |

I get some occasional audio pops and outages (the lips are moving but there's no sound). Sometimes the screen flashes black or instantly drops resolution (sometimes going from widescreen to 4:3). I have been told this has nothing to do with the TV and everything to do with my cable provider's signal to my neighborhood, which is overtaxed due to an explosion in growth here. Oddly enough, it was my cable company who told me this. Go figure.

How are you liking those A3000s otherwise?
I know there are already threads devoted to this, but since SONY's decision to phase out rear projection I'm very tempted to pick one of these up before they go away for good. How has it performed for you (cable problems notwithstanding)? |

The reason why I like the RP's vs other types is I have small children. You can chuck an Elmo doll at an RP screen and nothing bad happens (it hasn't happened yet, but why tempt fate?). Try that with a LCD or plasma and you're begging for trouble. |
