Couldn't agree more, I'm the same way. As long as movies keep being made that are STORY oriented and not just action fluff I'll be a happy camper. Historicals have a longer track record of sticking to this...

What other historically based flicks are worth checking out?

Band of Brothers is an absolute MUST!
I'd say Goodfellas would fall in this category.

oh jeebus, did tom cruis need to be the lead in it?!

heh, they should take that hitler hd-dvd spoof and change the words as if the officers were telling him that tom cruise would portray a lead roll in a film based on his assassination. bahaha

I can only tell you now that it's a love it or avoid it kind of movie. Definitely not for those of us with no historical interests.
