I can only hope this means a decent 4K master has been minted. I saw this at AD recently and it looked like absolute garbage on the screen, because the HD/DVD-era master is ancient.

I really hope if this is a limited edition we get some kind of extended composite cut. It would be similar to what fans have done over the years with adding deleted scenes and scenes from the TV cut to the theatrical.

Oh wow. This has the potential to be an amazing set. And with Arrow producing UHDs now my expectations are high. Give it to me now! That postcard is gorgeous as well. I hope I can come across one someday.

No doubt this is the title they were lamenting that the director wasn't interested in doing a director's cut. It would be nice to at least get a new composite over the TV version. Even Kubrick was willing to answer questions on the restoration of Spartacus. Lynch recently labeled Dune his only disappoint in a recent question and answer session posted on his youtube page.

Yeah, Lynch not being involved with this release is understandable but still a big disappointment. I’m sure Arrow will still be able to knock it it of the park.

4K or no buy. Who am I kidding , I'll still probably get it. Arrow takes great care with packaging, extras, etc. so that at least should be nice. I want that postcard too!

Hot damn, I’m all over this. I know Lynch won’t do a commentary but I’d even watch a 30 minute epk of him saying how much it sucked :lol:

If this has the extended TV cut like Waterworld this set will be worth it, otherwise I will just pickup the aussie release.

The Alan Smithee TV-cut would be great to finally see in HD, but man...if Universal can authorize the inclusion of the "Spicediver" fan-edit they same way they authorized the Waterworld "Ulysses Cut" in that Arrow release...holy sh%t, I'd be over the fu%king MOON.

I'd be all over something like this. While there's good in the TV cut (basically the implementation of previously deleted footage) for me, it's overshadowed by the animated prologue, choppy editing, and the censorship of the Baron's more gruesome antics.
