Disney Christopher Robin (2018)

No Cover art yet but Best Buy has a pre order for 11/06/2018 but blu Ray database says Oct 23, 2018 . I tend to go with Best Buy their pre order dates are usually correct

I actually thought it would be a box office flob but it did ok. Should be a fun watch for those with small children.

That's pretty pathetic if Disney don't release this on UHD when they released A Wrinkle in Time. Christopher Robin has made more money globally in six weeks than A Wrinkle in Time did in its entire run, and it will probably end up with a larger (and natural) domestic total, too.

I'm not buying this one on Blu-ray, so hopefully it's a DMC exclusive or the press release isn't complete.

This one is strange, because there currently are no exclusives either. How odd.

Perhaps there will be a better edition released at a later date and they are saving the exclusives for that. No day 1 4K UHD Bluray being released is a real shame unless Disney are planning a better release later with the 4K UHD Bluray. I've never been the biggest fan of Winnie The Pooh growing up, but will get the live action version for Hailey Atwell & Ewan McGregor.

That Target edition looks similar in style to the Deadpool exclusive with the storybook. I like it!

Disney’s “Christopher Robin”
The Heartwarming, Live-Action Adventure for the Whole Family
Comes Home on Digital and Blu-ray™ Nov. 6

Embark on a spirited adventure with grown-up Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh, and friends,
and go behind the scenes to discover how Disney’s beloved characters are brought to life

BURBANK, Calif. (October 10, 2018) — On Nov. 6, Disney’s “Christopher Robin,” the wondrous, live-action film in which Winnie the Pooh and friends venture into mid-century London to help grown-up Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor), arrives instantly on Digital and Movies Anywhere and on Blu-ray™ and DVD with captivating, behind-the-scenes extras. The fun-filled tale features A.A. Milne’s timeless characters from the Hundred Acre Wood — Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Rabbit and Owl — making their first appearance as three-dimensional characters who remind Christopher Robin, and viewers of all ages, to appreciate the simple pleasures in life.

This entirely new take on the Winnie the Pooh stories will transport parents back to the imaginative, carefree days of childhood and allow them to share their love of Pooh and friends with their own children. “When you are able to make people laugh and cry in the same movie and you are able to tell the story with integrity and ground it in reality and have the magic realism on top of it, it lifts your spirits and connects you with the people you love,” says director Marc Forster. “We could all use a little bit of Pooh’s heart and wisdom right now.”

Bonus features provide a heartfelt look at the making of “Christopher Robin,” showcasing the magical artistry that brings the classic characters to life, the human actors’ techniques for interacting with stuffed animals, and the filmmakers’ passion for their project. Bronte Carmichael, who plays Christopher Robin’s daughter Madeline, takes viewers on an exciting journey from the drawing board to film locations throughout the United Kingdom. Features flash back to highlight Walt Disney’s fondness for Winnie the Pooh and recall the voice actors who lovingly portrayed the unforgettable voice of the iconic character. An exclusive digital bonus feature explores the actual teddy bear, given to Christopher Robin Milne 98 years ago, which inspired the original Pooh stories that have been shared and adored by families around the globe.

“Christopher Robin” will be packaged and released in several different formats, giving families the flexibility to watch the film on a variety of different devices. Viewers can instantly watch the film in Digital HD and SD, and bring home a physical copy of the film as a Multi-Screen Edition (Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy) or a single DVD.

Bonus features include*:

BLU-RAY & DIGITAL HD:

In Which … A Movie Is Made for Pooh – Filmmakers and cast share their passion for this story in a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie.
In Which … Pooh Finds His Voice – Discover what it’s like to voice Winne the Pooh, from voice actors Sterling Holloway to Jim Cummings.
In Which … Pooh and Walt Become Friends – How did Walt Disney and Pooh meet? Take a journey through time to explore the legacy of Walt’s first encounter with Pooh.
In Which … Pooh and Friends Come to Life – See how Winnie the Pooh and Friends were brought to life as walking and talking stuffed animals in this magical live-action world.

EXCLUSIVE DIGITAL BONUS FEATURE:

I have a feeling that this may still get a 4K disc release maybe it wasn’t done in time for the 11/6 release and maybe they are waiting to release it in 2019.

Loved this, can't wait to own it. Wish there was a bit more going on in the cover art than just characters on a plain white background, but oh well, the movie is great ~

It's a modern movie, I'm guessing they already had a theatrical HDR grade so I'd imagine the release date had nothing to do with there being no 4K. Best we can hope for is a Jungle Book or Force Awakens-type delay, but both those movies were mega-hits and guaranteed to sell on any format.

Realistically, I'd guess that Disney got cold feet once they saw how much A Wrinkle in Time sold on UHD.

Walmart.com lists an "exclusive", but doesn't say what it is. The only thing I can see is that the temp art shows it's purely a Blu+DVD package *without* a Digital Code/Copy or the "MultiScreen." Is it possibly Walmart's exclusive is really just a lack of Digital Copy?
