Little Forest (리틀 포레스트) [Injoingan]

Injoingan today released the visuals for their blu-Ray release of one of my favourite films from last year, the Kim Tae-ri starrer Little Forest. The film will be released in two editions: Type A will have 72-page Scenario Book and a 100-page Photo Book while Type B will have the same Photo Book with a 284-page Storyboard Book. Preorder details will be announced next week.

PREORDER DATE: From March 8th, 2019, 2pm Korea Time onwards.

RELEASE DATE: April 11th, 2019.

I have to be honest, I had watched this on DramaFever around the time it got released and really didn't understand the praise this was getting. Probably just my opinions on how youth in general can be, but I find the lead character pretty unlikeable and just not that enjoyable to watch.

This one is definitely not for everyone (it seems to have a "mixed" reaction from the little I have read and listened to review-wise) so just fair warning to those that may be on the fence about this one already to maybe find a way to watch it before buying it.

Wasnt the narrative that it was loved in Korea because Koreans have such a hectic and restrictive lifestyle that they like the idea of moving away from it all and to the country or whatever. I haven't seen it because it doesn't really interest me, it's sounds like a boring story, but I may watch it if it's on Netflix or something.

I wasn't sure if I took that away from the film personally, but that type of commentary has been coming up in quite a few Korean films in the past decade for sure.

The story itself was kind of dry but I just didn't think much of the lead character. She felt terribly unlikeable. I am sure someone will tell me that is the point to an extent at least but I just never get behind many movies like that.

I don't think the Korean movie comes near the Japanese movies. However that's just my opinion.

I'd like to see the Japanese movies but the Blu doesn't have English subs. Have you found a release somewhere that does?

Unfortunately not buddy, I've only seen them at film festivals. Japanese blu's hardly ever have english subs.

That's a shame; fingers crossed it gets picked up over here by the BFI or someone. I have bought Japanese Blu's before knowing they didn't have subs just to enjoy the visuals.

if you have a bluray player on your computer, you can download a player that allows you to run external SRT files which would give you english subs

The original Japanese version was great and this version is great, too. The original focused a bit more on the recipes and the Korean version focuses a bit more on the interpersonal relationships. The original is split into four parts over two films totaling 231 minutes, which is a big commitment if you're like me and prefer to watch the whole story in one sitting. The Korean version is a more digestible 103 minutes in total. I'm definitely interested in getting a copy.

What's the difference between the Scenario Book (type A) and the Storyboard Book (type B)?

One is the script and one is the storyboards?
