I finally broke down and got Blue Planet on standard def. It beats the stuffing off Planet Earth: more stunning visuals, more cerebral, more imaginative, better music.

Showing off blu-ray's impressive quality is good, but going back to standard makes the difference all the more clear. I'm digging at my eyes in frustration.

Is it even possible to get Blue Planet in hi def? Was it filmed at 480p or something? If not, get it released and it'll supplant Planet Earth as the best nature documentary ever made.

It was filmed at 720x576i if i remember.. so going HD would only get a upconvert..
