Default first Guiar Hero 4 track?

http://kotaku.com/353291/the-answer-...o-iv-this-year

Quote:
While we never really had any doubts that Activision's next installment of the Guitar Hero franchise would reach us this year, we've yet to hear anything concrete from the company outside of the Blizzard merger fact sheet issued in early December. Now one giddy British band may have unofficially spilled the beans. The band is called The Answer, and in a recently issue press release they proudly announce that their song "Never Too Late" was one of twenty picked by Activision last month out of over two-hundred submissions at the Marché international de l'édition musicale industry trade show to appear in Guitar Hero IV at the end of 2008. Eurogamer contacted Activision for their response but received only the standard "No comment." It's almost non-news, really. We knew it was coming out, and I guess now we know one of the songs. Hooray!

Guitar Hero IV will be released at the end of 2008, according to an unlikely press release from British band The Answer.

Its song "Never Too Late" will feature in the line-up, apparently, after being picked out at the Marché international de l'édition musicale (or Midem conference) held at the end of January.

More than 200 songs were submitted by music companies at the enormous industry trade fair, and Activision (plus experts) chose just 20 of them to appear in Guitar Hero IV.

The Answer are obviously chuffed to bits, as sales of the rhythm-action series and its downloadable content have boosted participating bands' sales in the past.

"This is a tremendous honour and privilege for both The Answer and the Alberts label," said James Cassidy, UK boss of music label Alberts.

"With a new album due later this year we look forward to taking the band to a whole new level of international success."

Meanwhile, Activision UK stuck to no comment.

You had me confused with the title of the thread. Thought you were talking about a 4 track recorder.

I'm not giving Activision any love until they fix what's broken with GH3 first...

Pfft. Activision.

I almost regret buying Guitar Hero 3...
They killed the entire series.

I just wanted to try to beat Fire and the Flames on expert. Which i did... Arent I godly? Indeed...

Harmonix... are gods.

Give me a sequel to amplitude!

Just get 'Rock Band'. People don't realize that they are getting 4 games in 1 for less than the price of 2 GH games. Plus, with the quality of continuous downloadable content, you won't have to buy new equipment for 'Rock Band 2' since they probably won't need to make a 'Rock Band 2' for a couple of years.

I honestly think that it's really a no-brainer. Sure, the guitar feels different. But, believe it or not, the feel of the guitar makes things a little more tricky with flush fret buttons and no clicking on the strum bar.

And the drums... well, they are so much more enjoyable than the guitar anyways. Yes, it definitely takes some practice to get use to, but they totally blow the guitar out of the park.

'Rock Band' just has SOOOO much more to offer for less than $200 that I can't see where people still want their rythm gaming experience to be a childish one.

And yes... I own GH2 and have played GH3 extensively for comparative purposes.

I agree with you. Rock Band would be the one to go for rather than any of the GHs franchise.

Agreed. I don't touch GH anymore. If I did it would be GH2 not GH3.

Has anyone tried to trade-in GH3 at Gamestop and what kind of market value are they getting?

yea i dont think it sucks either, and from what ive heard, the guitar part of rock band just doesnt cut it compared to GH. Ive heard people say the main reason they buy it is just for the drums. Not worth it to me...

You know, instead of GH4 how about some downloable contents? Who wants another rehash of the same game for another $60 to play with a broken controller?

My guitar was fine, but now the neck connections are too wobbly to play unless I wrap it up with some rubber bands.

Incidentally, I bought the PS3 version rather than the Wii so that I could get downloable content... a whole 6 songs to date. I played the Wii version at a friends the other day, and the whole experience is much better. The controller feels sturdier (maybe psychological, but it is heavier/more solid because it has the Wii remote in the body) and the connection isn't flaky!

::end rant::

The biggest problem I have with it is the boss battles. I didn't buy the game to beat Slash by breaking his strings, I bought it to pretend to play the guitar. Unfortunately, you can't get any further in the game without beating the boss. If they re-thought the gameplay mechanics in the boss battles or made them optional instead of mandatory, the game would be better.

Actually, if you lose the boss you can just choose to forfeit.

My complaint is the guitar. The game itself is fine, but the whole concept of the removable neck is just silly and unnecessary, and just created a new problem. Also, the lack of bluetooth connectivity with the PS3 means a flaky connection.

Dude, If anyone is "devoted' to DLC its EA. They're the greediest company in the world.

But I agree with the general concensus here. GH is so old news. Rock Band is the future.

GH is inherently anti-social compared to Rock Band. You can play with 2 other people right out of the box instead of having to share the same single guitar in GH.
