Default Jack's Back (1988)

Jack's Back Blu-Ray

Quote:
The 'Jack' who's 'back' in this contemporary chiller is none other than Jack the Ripper. The scene is Los Angeles: the time is August of 1988, exactly 100 years after the Ripper's original reign of terror in Whitechapel. When several LA prostitutes turn up murdered and disemboweled, young physician James Spader is accused of emulating Spring Heel'd Jack. Before the film is half over, Spader is killed, and so far as the police are concerned, the case is closed. But then, Spader's twin brother appears on the scene, determined to track down the genuine culprit (if it doesn't turn out to be him, that is!). Handled with restraint, Jack's Back covers much of the same ground as the classic Robert Bloch tale Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper,' though its crucial plot twist is a tad more clever (if a bit silly out of context). STREET DATE: JANUARY 26, 2016.

My most wanted film on Blu-ray. Pity it's coming from the one company I hate.

One of my most wanted too. The image quality of my DVD is awful. Looks like a VHS rip.
What's wrong with Scream? Standalone release means we might get a few extras

Yeah Scream Factory is awesome. I hope they get the rest of the Phantasm series.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you! If it have not been for Shout Factory, a lot of obscured titles wouldn't have been released on blu-ray from anybody else, so be thankful. It's best to have movies released by Shout Factory, than not at all!

I'm happy they have released some of my favorite horror films, better Scream Factory than the big companies who don't give a crap about their old horror flicks. SF is the best.

Sounds pretty cool, actually. And I noticed it's directed by the same guy that gave us Road House!!!

Something weird going on with James Spader's eyes on that cover.

I remember Jack's Back, it's a pretty good movie. As a matter of fact, I still have it on VHS. Jack's Back was never released on DVD in the U.S, only in the UK. So this upcoming blu-ray released from Shout Factory is a treat, for those who're familiar with the movie.

Australia and Brazil also got DVD releases, probably the same disc from the UK. The image's horrible tho. Can't wait to see it in HD.

Anyone knows if JACK'S BACK got a theatrical release back in 1988, or was it straight to video?

It did play theatrically (playing in about 100 or so theatres at its widest). And the cover is actually based on the US poster.
