WAR and 7.1 PCM problem? - Blu-ray Forum

So, I loaded in WAR. I can get Dolby Surround EX but the 7.1 PCM track comes over as 3 channels. It sounds so much inferior to the Dolby track.

Given that I get the full 7.1 through to my AVR for 3.10 to Yuma this strikes me as a disk specific issue.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Sounds like you're using an optical or coax cable and not HDMI or analog outs

You can't get PCM over 2 channel without that

Nope.

As I said - I get 7.1 PCM with 3.10 to Yuma. I have HDMI connections all the way through.

If 7.1PCM works for 3.10 to Yuma on my system I cannot understand why it isn't working for WAR.

Is anyone else having the same problem - where 7.1 PCM works for every other blu (that's supposed to have it) but this one? Note - I also get HDMA, TrueHD and PCM (5.1/6.1) on all other Blu's as they are supposed to be.

Oh dear...

I tried 3.10 to Yuma in my BD player again and that disc is down sampling to 2.1 PCM

I've reset default settings to no avail. I have HDMI cables from BD player to AVR to TV. 7.1 PCM did work before.

After playing WAR 7.1 PCM no longer works.

I'm going to be contacting Panasonic. Something is wrong.
