So I have the Samsung BD-P1000 (one of my players), and after the new 1.4 firmware upgrade.....You guessed it, both movies freeze, and or skip!I wish Samsung would replace it, but it is discontinued now.Samsung is just Horrible lately, and I'm Pi#*ed. Anyone else having this problem with there BD-P1000?

I had a similar issue with my Sony and I exchanged it, fixed the problem.

Samsung is tarnishing the bluray brand with their shoddy players and practically non-existent customer service. Since you have the early model, perhaps an upgrade to the latest gen players is required, and from experience (former 1200 owner here) stay far away from Samsung players.

had this problem with Superbad...I wiped the disc down with a lense cleaner (for eyeglasses) and it works fine now..
