This upcoming Criterion 4K release was confirmed by Eddie Mueller in his Ask Series program where he mentioned that they asked him to record a commentary but he declined.

Great news! With every Columbia Classics set announced that didn't include it, the more speculation grew that it was with Criterion, so I'm glad to finally see it confirmed. Hopefully they can get a commentary track from Imogen Sara Smith for the release.

Thought the excellent Indicator Blu-ray would be the last disc I'd ever buy of The Big Heat, but very excited to revisit this top tier Noir in 4K.

Park Circus has had a new 4K DCP of this and Gilda out for a while now. I would bet both titles will be released in the same announcement month.

I know it won't happen, but I wish Criterion could just re-use the Twilight Time art, or do a variation similar to it. One of my favorite covers to come out on BD

It's a nice cover, but tbh I prefer the one used for Indicator's BD (which I think was a variation of a foreign poster?).
