as the others have said, very much so assuming you're sitting at a reasonable viewing distance.

a lot of people will say that you can't really tell a difference at that level, and some will swear that they can. only way for YOU to be sure is to test it out yourself. |

People, as well as myself, have tried this out, and with 40" and below tv's its seriously a very close call, once you reach the lower 30's you really cant see a difference at all. Once you get over 40" then you can start to see the difference, especially with a 50" or higher tv. If you go 50" or more i'd recommend 1080p tv. But I use a 720 37" tv and think it looks absolutely amazing.

I have a 47" 1080p and I sit 8 ft from the TV. When I tell the PS3 to output 720p instead of 1080p, I can tell the difference. My eyes are not perfect, but I can definitely see, for example, that letters are more jagged in 720p (for example, in Casino Royale, when "Madagascar" comes up in one of the first scenes, they come up clearer and crisper in 1080p). |

I have a 27" Sharp HDTV 720p and I love it. As for if a 1080p at the same distance/size would make a difference, unless you have a real eye for that kinda thing, you would never notice, and even if you do, when under 40" the difference is negligible. I would say unless your going to get over 40" just get 720p cause the jump in price to 1080p is not really worth it.
By the way, AWESOME name Blu-dock Saint, I have been waiting for that movie for so long now on blu-ray. I was exicted to see it could happen as it is released by Fox. Last edited by Darth_Bane; 02-12-2008 at 02:59 AM. |

My question is, is it truly 1080p? or is it only 720p since it is a 720p tv? Thanks! |
