Dreamworks Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)

Quote:
There will be more Kung Fu Panda. Universal has set a March 8, 2024 theatrical release for the fourth installment to the Jack Black voiced franchise which has grossed $1.8 billion through three movies.

The first movie, which was released in 2008, received an Oscar nomination in the animated feature category. No directors are set as of yet for Kung Fu Panda 4, but Uni is planting their stake in the ground date-wise.

Part 4 will follow the further adventures of wide-eyed Po in ancient China, whose love of kung fu is matched only by an insatiable appetite.

Whoa! What a pleasant surprise. The question I have is will the production value be the same as the first three or will it look like Puss in Boots: The Last Wish?

Are you sure that the look of The Last Wish isn't just a stylistic choice?

Hey! I just realized that maybe this will provide us with a window of opportunity for them to finally release the first three films on 4K UltraHD Blu-ray. Given that, then I'm all down for this!

All 3 of these are my favorite Animated movies. A+ from me. The new show is fantastic as well. I can't WAIT for another movie.

Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, 3 was sorta lame but it was also a good cap to the trilogy.

Hope it will be good though.

I'm glad! I found the third one underwhelming compared to the first and second films--the only good thing was seeing Oogway again--and I'd hate for it to have ended on that one.

They can end it at 5 instead (since 4 isn't a number where franchises end, usually)--hopefully they don't screw that one up!

Kung Fu Panda 4? That is surprising. I thought his story was long over. Jack Black has been off the Theatrical radar for a very long time now it seems.

Yes, Panda 3 spent way too much time in the village, training everyone else. It was more of a training film for the village than an adventure film for Po.

Have all 3 on blu ray 3D: Medium to strong 3D layers.
Kung Fu Panda 2 9/10
Kung Fu Panda 1 8/10

Official title seems to be just "Kung Fu Panda 4", no subtitle unlike the other Universal released DreamWorks sequels

I still need to watch 3, but the first two were a lot of fun.

I know they had a TV series too, but how many more stories can be told about Jack Black's Panda? Part 3 was a bit underwhelming compared to the great part 1 and 2.

Get him on another epic adventure against a seriously tough villain and I'll be interested. Part 3, he spent 80% of the film training the village how to fight... I guess that's fine but it wasn't that exciting IMO.

If there's one thing I want more from a 4th film, it's that it would be more of a team movie. With the exception of Tigress, I felt the other Kung Fu animals never reached their full potential in the previous films. Yeah, it's Po's story and he would still be the lead, but add some depth to the other characters too.
