Default Which setup to go with?

I would be connecting a PS3 and A3 to a receiver. I also have an Xbox 360 Elite and may get HD from Time Warner soon. Two HDMI inputs will probably be enough on a receiver since my TV will have an extra HDMI input for the 360 or HD box.

How are the speakers on the Onkyo SP908 Home Theater System? I could put the ipod dock to use, but I mainly want this for HD movies. This system is available on Amazon for $763.

Other option for me was to get an Onkyo 605 or 705 receiver and a set of speakers. What are the main differences between those, aside from the extra HDMI input? Any recommendations on a suitable speaker package for either receiver?

I'm looking for good sound quality, but not mind blowing. Would prefer to keep the total cost under $700. Since this wouldn't be going into a very large room, what do you guys recommend?

I think because of your budget range, the Onkyo 908 just might be what you need.

(the 908 is actually a 605 with onkyo brand speakers included)

the speakers a decent and you can always upgrade to better speakers in the future. You get a lot for the price of the 908

For me, I'd always spend my money on a good set of speakers first, hands-down.

Speaker technology doesn't change much over years while receivers play the technology game with newer and better models at rapidly falling prices with a hurried pace.

Thanks for the replies. I'm leaning towards the 908 right now. Looking for more feedback on the speakers it comes with.
