The person handling the sale looked into international shipping and it’s a nightmare.

Which item are you interested in?

If you just switch on the Ebay Global Shipping option then eBay will handle the international shipping for you, you only need to post to their US address and they will send it on.

They charge the buyer a lot more for this than ordinary international postage but at least the items are purchasable by all.

ebay now calls this ebay International Shipping. I believe you are automatically enrolled in this and have no way to turn it off. It's doesn't cost you any more than regular shipping. ebay handles it all at no charge to you. You just ship to their hub and they do the rest.

I'm not sure that's entirely true. Here in the UK I have to turn the option on as there is a 4% additional tax to pay when selling internationally.

Looking at the 3-DFA listings it does not appear that the option has been activated.

I checked on my selling page to see if I was enrolled. I am and have not ever enrolled myself. I tried to unenroll and there was nothing I could find on how to do this. ebay enrolled me without me knowing. Below is what it says.

***************************
eBay International Shipping

Simply ship the item to our domestic shipping hub and we’ll handle the rest - at no extra cost to you. Enrolled

We’re still looking into worldwide shipping options, but all currently listed items without bids have been revised to offer international shipping.

I might be interested in the ones with already a bid.

I think over the years they've gone back and forth with automatically enabling it but I'd be surprised if there wasn't a way of turning it off.

My apologies for that, but I cannot revise the shipping method on an item that already has a bid.

Send me a message via eBay and I’ll see what we can work out for you.

Oh they tell us in the US how to unenroll from ebay International Shipping but when I go to the page to do this there is no option to click on unenroll. All my shows is that I am enrolled. No where to change this. I have searched everywhere to change this and have found nothing.

It's more of a problem if you are not enrolled, but if you've gone through all your seller preferences and can't change it there it sounds like you'll have to get on to eBay's customer service.

I'm not worried about any of it. I never sell anything that would sell in another country anyway.

Thanks, the outcome of this first group of items will dictate how we proceed.

And with international shipping, it has a bigger reach.
