SOOOO now I have received my Umbrella CE, which I was going to sell, but I am instead thinking of returning/selling the Second Sight CE without even watching it.
AND HERE is why, let me know your thoughts on this. First of all according to Umbrella, the directors wanted the film on Blu-ray as their format of choice, instead of 4K UHD; this also explains why this was released in Blu-ray in most places instead of 4K UHD. Umbrella could have put this on 4K UHD as they had been doing them for a while, but chose not to. Second, giving some weight to this, the streaming services like Vudu/Fandango aren't carrying a Dolby Vision grade, meaning the Second Sight HDR grade may be a home video label grade rather than a studio grade - and given the mixed mediums of the film, 1080p may offer more detail consistency than 4K does. Third, the Umbrella version *does* contain the Night Owls broadcast cut as a special feature on the disc (not just a VHS); this doesn't appear to be mentioned in Second Sights extras details. I don't want two versions like this, its starting to sound like the Umbrella is likely the better release. And that doesn't even mention the artwork which Umbrella CE clearly wins.
