45 bucks?! That would put it at $31.49 on Amazon. Way too much.

It will end up selling for $28-$30 when it releases, just like almost all new movies.

Pretty good flick.

That's waaay too much for one blu plus a DC. MSRP should never top 39.99 for a normal release (and a DC is nothing special). That's ludicrous!

Can we please stop calling blu-rays with a digital copy 2-disc sets?!!?

Agreed, that price is bananas for a standard release - even with the typical Amazon discount.

+1. I dont need/want the digital copy. And these price increases are really going to slow down my buying.... a lot.

Monsters Inc. $32.00???? Its 8 years old. Sheeeesh.

It had a somewhat limited release, but yeah... that might have something to do with it.

I'll use "Fanboys" as an example. Would people be willing to spend like $5 more for it to be released on Blu (with all of the extras that are on the DVD) as opposed to it not being released at all? Probably.

Exactly. Just because the MSRP is high doesn't mean it will be much more expensive than the usual $26-$30 price point most new releases are. The typical savings is 35% off at Amazon, which would bring the price to just under $30. It's a little higher than some releases, but not outrageous, and not high enough to be complaining like some people are. I'll gladly pay that for this and I will be buying this on day one.

Geez, such a high MSRP for the Blu.

Oh well, the movie was fantastic, so I'll deal with it...

I think everyone knows that it'd be foolish to pay MSRP cause Blu Rays are always discounted on their first week of release and they can be found online for much less, but even for an MSRP, this price is exhorbitantly high. Most MSRP for Blu's are $34.99 or rarely $39.99. But a MSRP for $44 is outrageous. I don't know what they're thinking.

I can't understand why anyone who doesn't work for Disney would defend price increases. That is strange.

The movie was pretty good. Wasn't as funny as I hoped for but the characters were good and I enjoyed the movie overall.

Might pick it up depending on PQ / AQ / Extras.

Yay for Disney BR price increase... I was hoping the Bug's Life/Monster's Inc title pricing were flukes). Seems $44 is going to be a regular occurance from Disney now

Well, there's goes my any chance I'll be buy that at launch...

If it's over $25 at launch I typically wait for a sale (in which case it has to be below $20)... So, for me, Disney is actually going to lose out compared to their previous pricing.

This is the opposite way prices need to be going, especially with the way the market is.

More on topic... The movie was pretty good - I really enjoyed it. It had its moments, but it wasn't a laugh riot or anything - it had a bit of heart though.

I agree that that the MSRP is high, but when you factor in the usual 35% discount that Amazon puts on releases, it only comes out to a little under $30. Still a bit high, but we don't even know what Amazon, Best Buy, and the other stores are even going to charge yet. I've already paid $30 for two movies, and I'll do it again for this if it ends up being that price. Call me crazy, but a few dollars isn't going to keep me from buying a movie I want to buy.

I'm not defending Disney. I do think the price is too high, but I also think the price will be too high for some people no matter what the MSRP is. Like I said above, we don't even know what the price is actually going to be yet and everyone is already up in arms. That whole thing is what I'm trying to point out.

this movie was a flop, that's why they jacked the price so they could get some $$ back!
