Default Walmart.com delists the A3

The red ants were excited when the A3 sold out at walmart.com. Now it isn't even listed, I guess they didn't reorder.

Do they really think that the Venturer player is going to sell at $167 and that is on clearance?

The sooner all the HD DVD stuff goes the better. Retailers should concentrate 100% of their efforts in promoting Blu-ray!

They have a few in stock here, when I asked one of the guys working in the electronics department, he mentioned that they sold only 1 player last month!!
As far as he knows they will also be expanding the blu-ray section soon.
I always see the same HD DuD movies when I check, yet the blu-rays seem to be gone pretty fast!

It seems like HD DVD is slowing "dripping" away. Wish there would be one big flush and be gone with it.

Soon Enough, Soon Enough.

Hell at the Wal Mart I work at we have an RCA hd dvd player and a Toshiba A3 both for $198 and they haven't moved. The RCA was sitting in back for God knows how long collecting dust. I pity whoever buys that POS thinking it will be a good player. As far as movies go, our end cap is 5:3 in favor of Blu and most of our Blu titles sell out fairly fast. I was lucky to get a copy of The Rock, as it was the last one we had.

Rediculous. It IS an A3. They are both made by the same company.

What a disaster for Venturer. But, they should have researched before trying to launch themselves to next level.

well, granted they don't exactly have a whole lot in R&D costs to recoup, since toshi did it all for them...

But, I expect Venturer had to pay for them at above the A3s new retail price. Who knows how many are stuck in a warehouse now? They will have to liquidate those at some point and take the loss.

If they drank the "Wal-mart decides HD DVD is the winner" Kool-aid then who knows how many they took expecting a huge Q4 splash.
