Makes sense with War coming out this summer. It would be even cooler if we got the original Apes movies on UHD. Well, except for Tim Burton's debacle. They can keep it.

Either way, not really interested in this. Maybe Dawn of the Apes, but it'd have to be cheap as hell.

This movie is nowhere near as good as the sequel IMO but it's still very good. Torn on an upgrade, might depend on price.

At least they're keeping graphic designers employed by remaking amazing poster art into shit home video art. That's the only upside I can think of. I have the Target metalpack for this but I hate those spines. Still probably better than this garbage though.

One problem I have with most studios is that when they reissue certain movies on Blu-Ray and DVD to tie in with their sequels, they are almost always inconsistent in design with the sequel's covers when they come out on Blu-Ray and DVD months later.

At least there's a certain symmetry between the two UHD covers. Hoping the third one will match these as well, but wouldn't be surprised if they just go with the mugshot that the previous blus had.

Decided to rewatch the two new franchise "Apes" movies today.

4K upscaling was excellent on this BD, so I doubt that I will upgrade to 4K UHD.

There are "mugshot" steelbooks of both movies, so it would be neat if they did a similar steel for the UHD. I might try and get the first two that way on ebay or something, last I saw they weren't expensive. I'm not a steel collector but I like the mugshot Caesar covers.

That guy planting the US flag and Taylor laughing at it is seriously one of my favorite movie moments of all time. They don't make 'em like they used to. Now that moment would be spelled out, if ever dared to begin with.
