Default January NPD: PS3 outsells 360 in North America

For the first time in North America, the PS3 outsells the 360.

Source

Hardware:

Quote:
Wii: 274,000
PS3: 270,000
PS2: 265,000
DS: 252,000
PSP: 230,000
360: 230,000
Software:

Quote:
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360): 330,900
Wii Play: 298,100
Guitar Hero III (Wii): 239,600 in sales (Ldt. 1,5 m)
Super Mario Galaxy: 183,800
Rock Band (Xbox 360): 182,700 in sales
Guitar Hero 3 (Xbox 360): 172,000
Burnout Paradise (Xbox 360): 144,100
Call of Duty 4 (PS3): 140,000
Mario Party DS: 138,500

Still needs to work on software sold though but to beat the DS and the 360 and come so close to outselling the Wii as well is really good news for Sony.

08 *****es!!

Wink

I usually see the NPD thread posted in here every month but I guess a combined thread would work.

I'm still trying to figure out if the PSP number is a typo or not.

Also, PS3 outsold DS!!

Damn good for PS3, it's really picked up momentum. PSP doing well too which is great coz I love the little thing.

Im sure Blu-ray had a hand in the PS3s sales. Sony must be happy. The PS2 is insane as well selling so well after almost 8 years, crazy.

Too late, they used that yesterday as I'm sure they saw Sony's numbers.

Preemptive Damage Control

Either way, Playstation family soared for the month of January.
