Help get me excited about Profile 1.1/2.0 - Blu-ray Forum

thats kind of been my whole take on the different BD profiles. Honestly, I couldnt really give a damn. I will buy a profile 2.0 when they come out but its not something that I am in a hurry to pick up...

I think profile 1.1/2.0 is merely a marketing gimmick. However the gaming, (like the Car Finder game on CARS) is something that younger kids can get into. If its something that can keep kids entertained, then hell yeah, anything to shut them up. As far as me using it, not so much. Just give me the movie, some trailers, deleted scenes, and a blooper real and Im stoked.

I agree completely with both of you....I've never been excited by and of these extra gimmicks. I just don't get it.

All I want is the best picture and sound I can get.....period.

I think it was mainly to silence hd dvd supporters who had these features from the get go. I couldn't care less about going to an online store for movie products when watching a movie. That's what I use my laptop for.
