I'm sure this movie isn't good but it seems to be one of those films where everyone decides it's fun to hate it and so millions of people who've never seen it will talk for years about how bad it is. A punching bag, in other words. Jupiter Ascending was another such film, and that one actually isn't bad IMO.

As someone who has seen both Jupiter Ascending and Madame Web you absolutely hit the nail on the head with this. Madame Web is in no way a work of art but the fact that it currently sits at a 3/10 on imdb blows my mind. I think that there are many people review bombing this who haven't seen it and just want to be part of the meme culture. If you actually take any small amount of time to read the negative reviews people have left the vast majority of them don't even mention the movie and are just making jokes about Morbius being better etc. I believe that there are people who saw this and didn't like it but I don't believe that this movie deserves the low score it has received. To me anything under a 5 is terrible to unwatchable and while this movie isn't perfect I did enjoy parts of it and I feel that if it wasn't for the heard mentality people have about this film the ratings of it wouldn't be so low.

But that's just my two cents having actually gone to see the film with an open mind.

I watched this today in the theater. Didn't know what it's about but just felt like watching Dakota Johnson on the big screen.

I thought the movie was good, but a little depressed at the ending due to

[Show spoiler]Cassie going blind and getting paralyzed.

That caught me completely by surprise and saddened me. Other than that, I thought the movie was intriguing from start to finish.

Seen it twice. Last time in IMAX.

It’s not great. But, it’s not bad either. Good stuff in it. Bad stuff in it. But, it’s oddly very character based film.

One thing that I liked about Madame Web is that it doesn't feature a post credits scene, so the audience can leave as soon as the credits start rolling.

Yeah, that’s the thing. I went into the theater yesterday knowing nothing about the character in the comics.
