Default PACINO vs. DE NIRO

Hey everyone

Al Pacino. Robert De Niro. 2 AMAZING actors. But which do you prefer? It's really hard, I have always seen Robert De Niro as the greatest actor of all time, so I'm going to have to say De Niro, but Al is also fantastic in alot of films....

Looking forward to seeing how the poll goes.

Cheers

OK, but he isn't part of the poll/question, so that was a pointless statement.

I'm more familiar with Al Pacino so I'll stick with him.

I have to say DeNiro, based mostly on his acting and what he did for Raging Bull....amazing movie IMO.

That's just my opinion, he obviously isn't the best ever, he's just the best ever in my eyes

And he is not a bad choice as he would be in my top three along with Brando and Pacino.

THE GODFATHER - What a film. Brando and Pacino were amazing in that, then De Niro came along for THE GODFATHER PART II which was also a fantastic film in my opinon....

Can I pick both?

Pacino was great in the 70s. Godfather, Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico, even Scarecrow I watch every couple years. Love Scarface and Carlito's Way is great. Heat he was very good, a little over the top, also in Scent of a Woman which he was great in. And Glengary Glen Ross. Any Given Sunday-perfect.

De Niro was cooler in Godfather 2 and in Heat. Great work in the 80s. Love Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Once Upon a Time in America, Untouchables (great Capone). Then Casino, Cape Fear, Ronin, Meet the Parents, Analyze This, and most recently, Stardust made me roar.

They have many more movies I'm forgetting, they are both great. Al hasn't done a great movie in years and he is usually just a loud flamboyant character. De Niro seems to have more depth and can play maybe 1 more character than Pacino. Still both of them usually only do well at a specific role. Even in the comedies De Niro is still a serious gangster.

I pick Bobby D.

I voted DeNiro. How can you not? Raging Bull, The Godfather, Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, etc....., but I respect Al Pacino a great deal.

The best actor honours however will go to Sir Lawrence Olivier.

John

This is exactly why I dislike Pacino. In some movies that I've seen he over acts. Screaming loudly doesn't make you a better actor.

De Niro is my choice

Neither one are true favorites of mine however I would say DeNiro for me

I tought he was very good in The Untouchables

He surprised me in Stardust

Of the two I found that he was more interesting in Heat then Pacino.

Only movie where Pacino did manage to make me like him was Author Author which is not saying much I know.
