Default How To Play All Regions???

I recently bought a Sony UBP-X700 4K Ultra HD (DOLBY VISION) Blu-Ray Player that was suppose to be Region-Free but isn't. I have a bunch of Region B/2 films and I don't want this to be a waste of $$$.

Is there a way/method for to use so it can be Region-Free???

7hanks!

Where did you buy it from? Was it a modded player? For the most part, 4k UHD's are region free of course. But, for playing a region B disc on that player, it would have to be modded.

4K discs generally speaking are region free, but the players are still set to a specific region. I don't think it is possible to actually set a blu-ray player to "all-regions" like you could with DVDs. If the player you bought was modified to be able to play all regions, there should be some button code on the remote or a switch on the player to change the region. You'll then need to change the region code every time you want to play a disc from a different region.

Region free is an option. You have to buy that option when you buy the player. They add a bit of hardware to allow switching. You can find places to buy region free players on google.

If indeed is region free and uses the most common chipset to convert it.

You should pull the disc out,
close the tray.
Switch it off.
LEAVE IT OFF!
then for region B, press the blue button and hold it for two seconds, release.
The player will switch itself on and it will be set for B.

For region A is exactly the same procedure but instead of the blue you press the yellow.

And since you bought it from someone, if what I am telling you doesn't work then you should contact whoever sold it to you and ask.

If your in or buying from Australia you can get it modded by gattiweb. They also sell cheap laser players that switch regions

For the Umpteen time no manufacturer makes a Region-Free player.

Unless there is some remote trick a standalone player has to be modded to be Region-Free which voids the warranty and locks the firmware. From what I have read the sony color button method only works on modded players.
