Emerald Fennell — who won the Academy Award for best original screenplay last year for her directorial debut “Promising Young Woman” — has set up her next project. Though plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s said to be a story of obsession.

Fennell is currently meeting with actors to cast for the top-secret project, and plans to begin filming this summer. As was the case with “Promising Young Woman,” she will once again direct, write and produce. [+]

Beautiful cinematography. I’ll give it a shot due to the cast but I got a feeling it’s just going to wind up being another “Eat the Rich” movie and we've gotten a few of those recently.

The trailer is fantastic. The film looks visually dazzling. This has been my most-anticipated movie of the year all year. That is still true after this trailer.

As someone who found Promising Young Woman pretty annoying and preachy, I'm quite intrigued by this based on the trailer.
It's giving me strong Guadagnino vibes and you can tell just from this small amount of footage that Emerald Fennell has progressed and improved quite a bit as a filmmaker since her previous movie; the presentation feels much more professional and mature, and the movie can communicate its tone through its cinematography and shot composition alone.

It may be divisive, but plenty of people are loving it. The reviews have only made me more excited. Apparently it's very, very dark.

Currently it's at 73% on RT. I think it could potentially stay in the 70's when the majority of the reviews are in. That's best case scenario. I'd be pleased with that. Or maybe it will be Babylon and end up rotten but still have plenty of people calling it a masterpiece. The divisiveness does kind of remind me of Babylon, tbh.

Saltburn is a great place, I go there frequently. Does awesome fish and chips, great ice cream, has a lovely Victorian pier and even has a fully operational funicular railway. Definitely worth a visit. Can’t wait to see this movie.
