With this specific title, it's rather difficult. Previous DVDs/BluRay releases in Germany didn't have English audio at all.
The current version on video streaming (Amazon Prime, iTunes) contains German+English audio and German subs. Not sure what this might mean for a possible UHD/BR release, as they didn't yet announce any technical details. |

Yep, that’s why I went with the FR release straight away. Constantin won’t make the grain management disappear and they’re still encoding BDs in 2023 with DTS-HD HR tracks (not that I’m missing out on tons of detail but this tells me they just more or less carry over their encoding settings without giving a damn). I'm also afraid of translated and burnt-in titles with them.

No. There's "Unendliche Geschichte" (which is good enough TM), "Perfume" (which IMO sucks) and some more where I don't own the Constantin release (the "Resident Evil" movies, "Monster Hunter", "Girl on the Train" and maybe/most likely more).

Bluray-disc.de is a very incompetent site and a lot of their information regarding audio options on discs are faulty. I stopped visiting this site many, many years ago because I bought atrocious looking BDs after they gave it 8, 9 or 10 points and bought discs that they listed with a lossless audio option for its original audio, but then it came with Dolby Digital only, forced subs or DTS-HR instead of Master Audio or True HD. Besides all that their reviewers lack any knowledge when it comes to quality issues such as encoding, natural grain, DNR, banding, edge enhancement, etc. and Dolby Digital tracks often get the highest marks simply because they do not have the language skills to understand English or any other language besides German. Their users are even worse. If you want reliable and competent info, look anywhere but there. |

It´s 2024 and no DTS-HD-MA Audio from Constantine.
Do they live in the stone age? |

Yeah, I know. Here, however, they explicitly refer to Constantin as the source of their information. Nevertheless, when mentioning BRD as source, I always explicitly state it (so it should be taken with a pinch of salt).

That Steelbook is Kenny Connery.
Slipcover looks better and uses the same artwork as the soundtrack, cool. As the German is less than half the price (!) of the French release, I shall add it to my collection (which already includes the decent mini series with John Turturro). |
