Default Question about returning a player?

I have a bdp-1400 and I am not very happy with it. I had a few problems and just want a player that works, so my question is how would I return it. I bought it on Oct 31 2007 at bestbuy and still have the receipt and warrenty and all. Im guessing my 30 days r up though for return to get money but would i still b allegible for store credit orrr? Anyone know how this can b done? Thanx

It is highly unlikely that BB would acceopt a return at this point (clearly outside of their 30 day window). If it is actually defective or not working, you should take advantage of the warranty and have it fixed. If its just misbehaving with some BD's like a lot of BD players there's not much you can do other than suffer through it and hope future FW updates can make it better or sell it.

First, have you installed the latest firmware? Second, what problems are you having, is it not playing movies properly? If so the firmware may address the issue.

It happened last nite, ratatoulie kept having little hicops where it would skip for a second. I have the latest 1.5 firmware for it. It played fine b4 when i had the 1.2 firmware. Also my disc tray does not always open when i want to eject a movie and for some reason whenever i wacth lost and take it out the screen stays black and i have to press menu for it to show the regular menu page again. Do this sound like simple problems a firmware can fix or is it my player?

It sounds like you could try to utilize the extended warranty you purchased and they would replace it with the exact same model. You could ask if you could use it as a credit towards a different player, or PS3. Or maybe after you get it you could try to return it for store credit. It is possible that with the new player you could then utilize the 30 day return policy. I am not quite sure what the terms of the extended warranty stipulate.
