Christopher Nolan's Insomnia has been announced for Blu-Ray for a July 13, 2010 date, surely to tie in with Inception coming to theaters on July 16th.
I went to see this film on opening day on the strength of Memento. I really hated it. On reflection, and seeing his next 3 films, I have re-evaluated that I may have had such an intense reaction because Nolan successfully portrayed the condition of insomnia so well that it created a great deal of discomfort for me sitting in the theater. I'll definitely be picking this one up for a second shot to see if my theory is correct. ![]() Insomnia Blu-ray Insomnia Blu-ray Review Last edited by Deciazulado; 01-02-2011 at 07:27 PM. |

Great news. Saw this movie in theaters also, and really loved it. Pacino was great and Robin Williams, in one of the few roles he's kept on a leash, does a very good job as well. Will be getting this day 1 so I can use the ticket to Inception.

There will be a ticket for Inception inside? If that is true i may rethink me rental decision if the Blu-ray is a decent price.

I saw the original last week and was expecting to be blown away after all the reviews claiming it was amazing and Nolan's version was nowhere as good but do you know what? I'll take the remake over it any day!
Pacino was much better than Skarsgard and adding the thread about Dormer being a corrupt cop gave the covering his partners death up that more convincing. Williams was so much better than the killer in the original and we get noting as impressive as the log chase sequence. The sequence where you see Pacino in full command of the situation but as the conversation continues Williams has Al cowering is just a master class in brilliant acting from both Rob and Al, Williams has rarely been better apart from the most overlooked One Hour Photo (Blu ray please!). I don't think the original was a bad film and yes it goes for the more ambiguous ending as opposed to the Hollywood ending which is the only flaw in the remake. Will definitely be pre ordering this! Now all we need is the Following on Blu! |
