May 1st release. There's over half a dozen variations of this release for DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K releases as well as a Amazon Japan exclusive steelbook for what appears to be the 4 disc Box version that hold probably just the 4K disc like the similar Box set steelbook did for the Japan Shin Godzilla multi-disc set..

Not surprising. Non of the previous Toho 4K Godzilla releases had English subs. We will have to wait for a localized release. Wonder who will distribute this title in the USA. This title better not end up like Shin Godzilla 4K.

Who would release this in the UK or could pick it up? Surely we're going to see some international releases for this.

I pre-ordered the big set from CD Japan. I saw it 5 times in theaters; I can follow along just fine until a U.S. release materializes.

Damn, that’s an awesome looking set. Sucks that there’s no English subs, but in theory I could buy it and then search for an SRT file that could play with it, someone is bound to post a compatible SRT file online, right?

Ordered. No need for English subs. This is purely a collectible decision. I did the same for Shin Godzilla. I'll pick up the eventual US blu-ray release to be my main viewing disc and watch this 4k from time to time (because like the Shin 4k, it's going to be a thing of beauty). Maybe we'll get an English friendly 4k version this time (unlike Shin).

Wow, way too many choices, haha! I just went ahead and bought the priciest one and figured that one will have everything.

... excepts subs. No biggie, I saw it subbed in theaters and I think I get the gist. Angry giant lizard must be stopped, or something along those lines.

This will look great on the shelf until the inevitable US release.

Same here. And there's no way the eventual U.S. release will have this many bonus features. I don't need to know Japanese to get the gist of the extras. Plus, I was at the U.S. premiere in L.A. and that's covered in one of the extras. Gotta have it.

I would think its likely going to be Anime Limited as they handled the theatrical release and without a doubt this will be released in many countries but that won't happen until a good few months after the Japanese release.

No Japanese release will have subs but you can be certain there will be a UK, US and Australia release, just need to be patient (August/September is my guess)

I'm really hoping with this films success we'll get an English friendly 4K but considering absolutely none of Toho's Godzilla movies have an English friendly 4K release I'm still keeping my expectations in check.

Toho even made Criterion use a 10+ years old transfer for King Kong vs. Godzilla despite them having a 4K master for years at that point.

My major concern is TOHO. They do not appear to be a friendly company to work with. Even with the success of this movie, they can just license out the BD and keep the 4K to themselves like they did with Shin Godzilla.

There wouldn't be a shortage of Godzilla fans who would gladly pick up Shin Godzilla and all the other TOHO Godzilla 4Ks if they had English subtitles.

Is the regular edition sold out on Amazon Japan and it just exclusives left? Any other places selling the 4K set?

Toho loves to act like Japan is the world and no one exists outside of it. I don't get it. I'd happily import all of their titles if they had English dubs.
