Have they the budget to get all the masks needed?

Let's hope not.

Yeah.
They might narratively resemble the stuff of fairy tales, but genre-wise, they wouldn't be classified as fairy tales.

Alice in Wonderland is a novel.

Peter Pan was a play.

Pinocchio was a novel.

Robert Englund will be Jiminy Cricket for Pinocchio Unstrung as well as Richard Brake as Geppetto: https://variety.com/2024/film/global...ok-1236197338/

Also a first look at the Pinocchio animatronic for the film made by Todd Masters (who worked on SFX for Tales From The Crypt Demon Knight and Child's Play): https://x.com/poohbandh/status/1852353412626596052

Honestly, it makes a lot of sense for Peter Pan, and Pinocchio especially Pinocchio whom is an absolute psychotic monster in the original Carlo Collodi novel, and Peter Pan is just a complete creep in the play, and original book from J.M. Barrie so these two fit. The rest of the characters not really, but these two make a lot of sense especially Pinocchio whom has had horror films before remember Pinocchio's revenge I sure do. Also Bambi, and Alice don't fit whatsoever however with Alice they made those M rated Alice In Wonderland games in the 2010s so she could end up being an antiheroine in the movie. I'm quite intrigued as we could get good Peter Pan, and Pinocchio horror films. Don't know about the crossover, but a Peter Pan horror film could be pretty good.

I think Bambi had some messed up stuff as well in the original novel iirc.

TBH, if the universe started out with Peter Pan and Pinocchio, there wouldn't be as much backlash to the whole thing considering people are used to horror takes for fairy tales like that. It's only that they began with Winnie The Pooh that people suddenly started clutching their pearls over the whole thing.
