REDEEMING FOR PHYSICAL DISCS ENDED ON JUNE 30TH, 2018. MOVIE BUFF CODES NOW REDEEM FOR DIGITAL MOVIES ONLY. CODES FROM DISCS NEED TO BE SCANNED INTO THE SONY APP. 5 CODES WILL GET YOU ONE MOVIE BUFF CODE. THIS CODE CAN THEN BE REDEEMED FOR ONE DIGITAL MOVIE FROM A SET LIST.

You get a free movie for every five eligible Blu-ray/DVD codes entered, or eligible movies purchased digitally.

Per Whipnet, if you have issues with missing UV codes, below is a good email to use. Please note that this is not the Sony Rewards site, but Sony customer service.

IF you do not get your email with the code, you do not need to call/email Sony.

In Sonyrewards.com account, go to My Rewards drop down box and select My Transactions. Then click Show drop down box and select Orders. Click on the order and your code will be there with a clickable link Get Your Coupon.

Here's a "how to do everything" courtesy of PaulMe. You can actually skip 1 and 2 in the redeem pass section, and checkout as a guest also (unless you want to redeem for a digital movie).

Entering movie codes:
1) goto https://www.rewards.sony.com/
2) create an account
3) open the 'Earn Now' tab -> 'Register Discs' page
4) enter the digital codes (I've only done this with UV codes)
5) repeat 4 until you've entered 5 (this earns a Movie Buff reward, aka Free Movie)

Note:
a.) You can only enter 15 codes a month (for 3 Movie Buff passes).
b.) there seems to be an account limit of 11 Movie Buff passes. Work around is to generate a new account before entering new codes.
c.) You also receive points with each movie redeemed, these can be used to 'purchase' merchandise from the rewards page. Blu-rays start around 700 points, and go up from there, most are around 1000 points.

Looking up Movie Buff pass codes:

Should get an email with the code titled: "Congrats, you've earned a FREE movie!"

You can goto 'My Rewards' tab -> 'My Rewards Home' page -> click on the 'View All' on the Completed tab. to look up codes.

Actually... this only seems to work with older passes I've earned, and the codes aren't listed for the new ones.

Q: I completed my Movie Buff pass, but didn't receive an email confirmation. Is there another way I can access my free movie code?
A: You can access your free movie code by logging into your Sony Rewards account and going to My Transactions. Click on the applicable order number, then click “Get your coupon” to receive the code.

1) Goto 'My Rewards' tab -> 'My Rewards Home' page -> 'My Transactions' link
2) Change the 'Show' drop-down to 'Orders'
3) Click on the 'Order Number'
4) Click on the 'Get your coupon' on the in window pop-up

If you aren't a member of Sony Rewards already, you just need to join. When you buy most Sony Blu-ray discs the UV code within also works as a way to register your disc with Sony for rewards points. You can still give away or sell the UV code. It doesn't affect the actual digital code itself.

In general this rewards program isn't the best as you only get 30 or 45 points per blu-ray in most cases, and the redemption costs to get stuff for free is usually high.

The beauty of this deal though is that you only need to register 5 discs and you get to select one for free. You also get a year to enter the five discs. I have no idea of the quality of the free discs, but hey free is free. I'm sure there would be something worth having.

I'll have to go through and see if I still have the code sheets in my Sony titles. I have never registered one so I may have quite a few that I can redeem. Wish we had a list of the free titles though.

I registered 10 yeasterday, it only let me choose one.
Even though the option for a 2nd set came up, it never finished by saying choose a movie.
Is it one per account or something?
I read throuh the faq and didnt see anything about it.

Just entered 5 codes, they sent me a code to access the available titles and there's over 100 available. Some of the more recent titles available are "The Night Before", "The Walk" and "The 5th Wave". Good deal!

I've entered the 5 and nothing is happening

After entering them it just says "In Progress" do they send an email with the code right away?

Is this separate from registering the movie for points? I'm just wondering if I can use those same codes I've already registered for this deal or if I'm out of luck since they were already registered before this deal started.

I had some that I had previously registered and they wouldn't go thru.
