Default Wolf Man (2025)

Looks like universal is rebooting the Wolfman again in a line of direct to video's to hopefully start another franchise.

LOL as if the last movie wasn't bad enough, now they're going to DTBD releases.

I actually liked the remake movie and can't wait for these to be released as it seems they want to do them right and aren't just going to shove out releases every few months but aren't given them huge budget's either. Plus if they are bad I just don't have to watch them and can forget about them.

I liked the new one as well. Not sure what all the hate was about it. Sure it wasn't the original, but it was still pretty good. It was solidly entertaining, had good actors, and it was shot beautifully. Maybe it's just me then. I was actually hoping we'd see a sequel but considering it didn't do terribly well I'm not surprised we aren't. I may give these a chance if I hear good things. If not, I'll just pretend they didn't happen.

I'll give it another shot if it ever comes back from that Amazon person I tried to sell it to, not sure what's taking so long. Can always use more Emily Blunt movies in my collection.

Universal's desperate to get their Classic Monsters studio label going again (especially the Wolfman, if it means they might have one more chance to dust off that "CGI Frankenstein-vs-Wolfman" project from the 90's), and the Joe Johnston movie.....didn't quite do it.

Stubbornness is the Eighth Deadly Sin of Hollywood.

yeah i found the remake very entertaining. its simple but it isnt bad, it just doesnt try to be more than what it is. (which isnt always a bad thing)
definitely worth checking out, ive watched it a few times already.

I thought it was pretty decent overall but I do think it went a little astray with all the Freudian father/son stuff.

It wasn't necessarily a bad idea but it didn't really work and just wound up cluttering an otherwise decent horror flick.

Oh, and if Universal wants to cash in on their classic monsters maybe releasing the classic films wouldn't be the worst way to go.

Yea, there seems to be a general dislike of it out of the people who saw it. Which really confuses me because it was a pretty solid version. It didn't try to be the original, it tried to be its own thing. And in that respect it worked, at least that's how I felt.

Heh, granted it wasn't a terribly deep field but the make-up was awfully good.

So were some of the other visual effects, for that matter. The estate and the medical theater hit just the right emotional tones and the rooftop chase was very well done.

I liked the last movie quite abit. It wasn't that bad at all. Watched it like 3 times already.

The reboot should be fun.

I liked it as well. Hopefully the reboot will good although DTBD has me a little worried. I wish we could get more classic monster movies

Count me in as one who did enjoy the movie as well. I think people may just not like the idea of the man wolf instead of a full wolf (you know like in Twillight ) Or it just was too gothic in style? Which is strange it did not do so well, I was so sure everyone is in that gothic style these days?

This movie may not have work well with the new generation, it mayhave wrok better with the older generation of movie fans. I know when I saw it it was mostly old geezers like myself in the theaters.

I guess I'm in the young minority then at 21 who enjoyed it.

del Toro was so badly miscast that I couldn't get into The Wolfman. Didn't help that, in general, it wasn't particularly well done even outside of that.

The setting and general storyline had potential, though. Shame we would up with a bit of a turd that damaged the chance of seeing more R-rated monster movies.

Some more information as it looks as Michael Tabb is now in talks to pen the screenplay and word has it that it's going to be a sequel. Really hope we get more information soon and really hope it keeps an R rating like the remake.

Glad its a sequel rather than a reboot. Although there's no chance Hugo Weaving will be back and I was hoping if they made a sequel it would focus on him.
