Default Indiana Jones on Blu 5/13??

Just read Bill's early update and he had this to say over at Digital Bits....

"Paramount has also announced the Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: Special Edition, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: Special Edition and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: Special Edition for DVD release on 5/13."

We saw the High def trailer that featured clips from the first 3 movies last week. We know Paramount has put the wheels in motion.

Could it be that they will drop this Holy Bomb????

No, it's simply a repromote of the existing DVDs as singles instead of in the boxset

The earliest you'll see them is Christmas

It will be nice to see Indiana Jones, but it probably will not happen until the new movie is released. Anyways, Bill informs us to in check latter for Paramount news

Granted they are "Special Editions" but with the box set still around what good cause is there to release DVD version yet again? Hopefully, we will see it in Blu. What makes these editions "special" anyway?

Remember, Disney put out the first two Pirates on Blu just prior to 3 being released in the Theatres and it paid off well for them. I think this is a one two punch for them to get some $$ in the spring.

They can release the singles now and early adopters will buy up then release box set during xmas and all the new customers will buy that.

hm good question. Probably taking the special documentaries from the bonus disk for the certain movie (Say Raiders of the Lost Ark) Put all the stuff the pertains to that movie on the disk with some promotional material for KotCS.

I would definitely pick up the Indy trilogy on Blu-ray, considering I never bought the DVD's.

Man, you missed out. They're some of the best out there, and the features are some of the few features I actually checked out "cover to cover." But, if you haven't seen the DVD's, you'll be blown away by the Blu-rays. I almost never say this, but hopefully they keep the bonus features from the DVD's and add even more.

Agreed, BStecke. I just finished re-watching the box set late last week.

Don't care. Not because I don't like the movies--on the contrary, I freakin' LOVE these movies.

But I won't buy them again till they're in a 4-film box set on Blu-Ray.

Then we'll talk.

Agreed. And I sincerely hope that the bonus disc DVD included in the box set is included with the Blu-ray versions, even if the bonus content isn't HD. It's a "must see" for all Indy fans!
