Default Matrix? Yes. Trilogy? No.

Is it just me then because i think the first is a superb film and the sequels are awful id only be interested in the first and its looking like im gonna be forced to buy the 2nd and 3rd film with it.

I think this is a post for just the Matrix, all other posts are for the trilogy. So it should be a separate post. The 1st one is the only good one. Hopefully Warner will be smart and release these individually.

Not sure why that is smart--most people see the Matix as a must-own and will buy the trilogy to get it. Warner makes much more money that way...

I thought the first was the best also. It was ahead of it's time story wise as well as the special effects. The one thing that gets me to this day is all the damn 'bullet time' being used in a lot movies. Yes it was cool the first oh, say 1,000 times but now it got old as hell. I already know some of you will probably lynch me for saying that too.

I'll buy all three, too. I don't think that the sequels were THAT bad. They just weren't anywhere near as good as the original. When you set the bar that high...

same for me. I am in a very small minority here, but after watching Animatrix - the last two movies went the only way they could go to end the story properly.

Just my opinion.

Having seen it in IMAX, I can't wait for Blu.

I own the trilogy on DVD, and have done for over a year (and yes, it's still shrinkwrapped - don't ask me why I have not got round to opening it yet - long story).

I have seen the first film but not the second two (think I will have a Matrix weekend next Saturday), so as yet I can't say whether I would buy the other two films. But to get to my point.

I recently watched the Bourne trilogy back to back, and I think that I would only want the first film. It's not that I hate the other two, it's just that I enjoyed the first much more, and I think the 2nd and 3rd could have been one film. Yes, I do realise that the final two films round out the series and answer some of the questions raised. I would probably over time get the second two if they were cheap enough, but I don't see me watching them a great deal.

There is a bit of a completest in me.

How can you sell part 2 and 3. Do you really honestly think a single person will buy only part 2 and 3? My point is, if the matrix can only be bought as part of a trilogy, everyone that wants the first film is going to be in the exact same boat as you.
