Wow. never expected them to get Chris Tucker to get off his A$$ and make this. Kinda crazy how little he has worked. I mean I thought Vin DIesel and Will SMith hardly ever worked.
The first two flicks I find pretty funny so hope his can be decent. |

Now the latest news I can find is from a year ago. Sounds like he has the story, just not the cast.
http://www.celebdirtylaundry.com/201...ay-movie-1120/ Ice Cube is in the process of putting together the cast and crew for his next, and possibly last, movie in the Friday franchise and he wants John Witherspoon back again to play his daddy. O’Shea Jackson, aka Ice Cube, was already at the top of the recording game when John Singleton encouraged him to try his hand at screenwriting, telling him, “If you can write a record, you can write a movie.” With this encouragement, Ice Cube wrote the screenplay for what became the 1995 comedy Friday, in which he also starred, alongside then up-and-coming comedian Chris Tucker. Friday earned $28 million worldwide on a $3.5 million budget, and spawned two sequels, Next Friday and Friday After Next. On March 9, 2011 he announced that he was making the final sequel called Last Friday. As TMZ reports it looks like Withersoon is all set to play papa: Ice Cube knows … you can’t have a “Friday” movie without John Witherspoon to punish the bathrooms. TMZ has learned … Cube has already reached out to the actor to reprise his role as his burrito-eating, dog-catching father, Willie Jones, in the next “Friday” movie. We spoke to Witherspoon … who tells us, “I said, ‘HELL YEAHHHH! I am ready to do this!” Witherspoon says nothing is in stone yet … but he’s very confident everything will be worked out. TMZ broke the story … Cube has also been in talks with Chris Tucker and Tiny Lister about reprising the roles they made famous in the 1995 hit. WItherspoon says he’s excited to work with all his old pals — but he’s more fired up about the women … telling us, “One thing for sure that I do look forward to seeing on the set is pretty girls.” “Cube always has bunch fine women on the set. I am an old black man, how could I not look forward to taping with a bunch of pretty girls surrounding the set?” Since Ice Cube is now in his 40′s it might be time for him to get a new idea – playing the son in the ‘hood’ is getting tired. __________________________________________________ _____ http://thewellversed.com/2011/03/09/...n-last-friday/ Devi Dev of Houston’s 97.9 the BOX got a phone call from Ice Cube last week when he was in town for a House of Blues performance. The two discussed his marriage, new album rumors and talk of an addition to the Friday trilogy. While so many celebrities have volatile romantic relationships, Devi Dev noted that Cube and his wife stay out of tabloids. According to Cube, it’s all about the love. “We love each other, it’s really all about us and the family we’re building and the memories we’re building. We want to be together, so it’s easy.” Cube’s ninth studio album I Am The West dropped last fall under his Lench Mob imprint to overall good reviews. Riding off of that success, can we expect a tenth? Dev asked Cube to settle a Wikipedia rumor that Once Upon A Time in South Central L.A. is in the works. Cube confirmed that it is just that – a rumor. “That’s not true. I Am The West is still out there, people are really starting to warm up to that record, so I’m still trying to get that one off.” A project that Cube did have in the works however was Last Friday, the final installment of his Friday series. He explained to Devi Dev why it is currently stalled. “Right now we’re not really doing nothing on it because the people I want to be in it are kind of off doing other things, so right now it’s kind of still.” We know what you’re thinking. Is Chris Tucker one of those people? Dev did mention his name and Cube did affirm that he is one of the folks in question. Tucker hasn’t appeared in a Friday movie since the 1995 debut, so we’re hoping that everyone’s schedules come together to make this one happen. Mike Epps also spoke to TheWellVersed about the possibility of another “Friday” movie in a recent interview. Epps suggested that New Line Cinema still owns the “Friday” franchise and says that they have not set forth a budget for another film. |

Chris Tucker's money problems could be the best thing to ever happen to his movie career ... because the actor has been in serious talks with Ice Cube about reprising his role as SMOKEYYYYY ... so says the guy who played DeBo in the "Friday" series. Tiny Lister was chillin' last night outside Pueblo Viejo in Hollywood -- when the scariest man in Hollywood told us ... Tucker flew him out on his private jet recently to discuss the possibility of getting the ORIGINAL "Friday" crew back together. FYI -- Tucker shot into superstardom playing pot-obsessed Smokey in the original "Friday" back in 1995 ... and then refused to appear in any of the sequels, citing religious reasons. But now, Lister tells us ... Tucker and Cube have a big pow-wow set for next week to discuss a 4th "Friday" film ... adding, "This is gonna be the big one." Lister told us he and Tucker also talked about doing a sequel to the 1997 hit, "The Fifth Element." |
