Default ps3 and my onkyo reciver
ok so i have the onkyo 805 hooked up to my ps3 via hdmi cable, and all the settings are pcm on the ps3. so when i watch a blueray or reg dvd it just registers on the reciever as multi channel audio. but the last few games i have played devil may cry 4 and drakes fortune they both show up on the receiver as dolby dig 5.1 and drakes also has dts 5.1 track. anyone know why the ps3 passes the audio along to be decoded by the receiver on games and why it dosent on movies?
