Default Best Buy's not shy about Blu-ray's victory

what do you guys think?
Quote:
It's obviously not a secret that Blu-ray came out on top of the world's most recent physical media scuffle, but Best Buy's Canadian branch is most certainly not being subtle about announcing said fact. The main splash screen currently on the site grabs your attention with "Format War Over: Blu-ray Wins! We've got your Blu-ray needs covered." Sheesh -- tell the world how you really feel, why don'tcha?

LOL! That's awesome! I hope this motivates other retailers to do the same.

I love best buy. I can't wait to walk over to the "blu-ray section" not the "hi-def media" section in a few months once the dud has faded away!

Indeed. If it were me, I'd be pulling the red off the shelves now and not perpetuating the confusion that's strangled the market for so long

And if things had gone the other way BB would have just as happily announced that HDDVD had won. They are a business and are just happy that a single standard has won and they can get down to what they do, which is to sell products and make a profit.

It only makes sense. It seems a lot of customers were waiting this out on the sidelines for a Victor to emerge. Now that one has make sure you let them know so they can get on with buying all that new equipment & Disks!

Every retailer that sells Blu-Ray Players and disks should do this.

The Costco by me is pushing the Blu Ray players big time. They have a huge display up front and for demo purposes, they're using the Sony S301 player that sells for $379 attached to a Sony 52'' Bravia and playing Pirates of the Carribean - Dead Man's Chest. This past Sunday, there were a ton of people ogling over it, including my wife and she is far from a videophile. I saw a few of those go out while I was shopping.
