best hd tv out?,prices 6k+ plus & sound system

im looking for a good hd tv tor tv hd channels & high def gaming on xbox 360...ive saw the pioneer blu-ray player was the best one out "sharper picture".ect then samsungs.....so i was looking at the elite tv's by for pioneer....should those be good?...or what is a good?.

i need a kickass tv they'll be on for hours on end with 360 and blu-ray movies to keep me entertained in bliss
ive also need a good sound system with a good amp system..elite by pioneer or sonys 9k sound amp??

my friend has a samsung hd tv thats 50''...drop'd almost 5k..looks awesome..but anything better?

its "go all out or go home" for me...im williing to spent 15k,or even more on home system stuff,so help me out...

sony 55' KDS55A2000 only anound 3k...bah...if i shopped at wal-mart then i would but that tv..but nah!...too cheap for me,thats like buying,video wires at the doller store...no thanks!!!

I'd either pick the latest Sony SXRD LCOS sets (the A2000's, size your choice) or possibly the Pioneer Elite PureVision plasma.

Something along those lines.

Or if you want to spend big bucks, there's alway front projection. I'll have to defer that subject to others around here.

If you have that much money, why not buy a movie theatre and put it in your back yard?

Avoid plasma at all costs if one of your primary uses will be gaming. Burn-in issues are not fully resolved with plasma and gaming consoles may be the number one plasma killer out there.

For a display, I would strongly look at the 60" or 70" XBR2 LCOS/SXRD displays from Sony.

If you are really going all out and control light in the room, then front projection can give you 100"+ in size and full 1080p with some very serious offerrings from many providers including Optoma, Sim2, Digital Projection and others.

For audio? Separates are a very good way to go, but the Denon 5805 is still perhaps the best stand alone A/V receiver on the market. If that's not your style and you want more, consider McIntosh or perhaps Krell.

I personally have my Yamaha RX-Z1 connected to a Crestron 200WPC outboard amp with a 3,000 watt Velodyne 18" sub delivering on bass. I wouldn't waste my money on to high of a brand name as they tend to be a bit less reliable than the standards. Denon, Pioneer, and Yamaha (in alphabetical order) are all excellent choices.

I agree with Av on all those components. But I'm not too sure on the TV. Is LCOS a poven technology? I may be wrong ,but I would stick with an LCD, very reliable.

LCOS has been out now for over a year and a half. Both Sony (SXRD) and JVC (D-ILA) are currently offering several models and sizes.

Last year, I believe that Widescreen Review gave the Sony rear-projection SXRD its highest rating and it was listed as a product of the year. The CNET reviews rate the SXRDs at the very top (both by expert reviewers and consumers).

I recently chose the SXRD because of its advantages over other technologies - excellent blacks (almost CRT-like), contrast ratios rated at 10,000 : 1, and the lack of problems like burn-in, "rainbow effect" and convergence issues. I also like the fact that they are a true 1080p display without "wobulation" like DLPs and the SXRDs accept 1080p (60fps) over HDMI. They may not be absolutely perfect, but are believed to be the best display technology out there now by many reviewers.

If you really want to go high-end, the Sony SXRD front projectors like the VPL-VW100 ($10k) or their other $30k model are incredible. I saw the latter one demo'd in a SonyStyle store and made me think I was watching film.

Anyway, I think they've got the bugs worked out on this technology. Granted it is stll very young, but I'm sure that Sony and JVC have some tricks up theirs sleeves to push LCOS to new heights of performance.

One thing I like of the SXRDs is that no matter how close you put yourself to the image you don't see a screen door effect, they are perfectly smooth. (You know I like a big, close, wide image, like in movie theaters)

Hasn't the (5k) cheaper than the Ruby front projector come out too? The Pearl if I'm not mistaken?

I agree with everyone's comments on the SXRD and LCOS technology and can speak from first-hand experience as I am fortunate enough to own one of the XBR2's. You don't have to take our word for it though. Go see it for yourself if you can. Just be sure to go to a specialty home theater retailer who has a properly calibrated display. It's very hard to judge image quality at some of your larger consumer stores.

Think again, I work in a big electronics store.. we have all the big name tvs. The
Sony xbr-sxrd's are nice but you can still get the screen door effect from them. (save your money and get the reg sxrd because it has the same picture much cheaper...) 60" sxrd priced at $2400 right now. 60" xbr-sxrd priced at $3400

LCDs.. are nice but not worth the money yet.
Plasmas...Great color, super contrast ratio, but if you have windows you are going to deal with alot of glare. I am tired of hearing people say... ah plasmas burn. Turn your contrast ratio down while you break in the tv. The truth is most gamers will never burn their screens. Most plasmas have screen burn protection like whitewash to combat it. And unless you leave the tv on all the time and never play something else it will probably never effect you. Example: we have a bose demo playing on a plasma at our store that is on for nearly 12 hours/day. It plays the same crap over and over and over 3months and counting, no burns.
Rear projection (microprojectors) dlp/lcd/lcos... great value, avail in 1080p (exept for the lcd RP's). Color wheel vs lcos, Not a big difference. Just buy one of the big 3, sony/samsung/mitsubishi, and get an extended warranty to be safe.

I own two 50" rear projections. A 4yr old samsung dlp 720p, and a panasonic 1080p. I am dying for a bigger one now.
My next tv either the Sxrd 60 (not the xbr-sxrd cause its overpriced, the picture is the same as the sxrd, and the speakers look gay on the xbr anyways), the Samsung 67 1080 dlp, or the Mitsu 65 1080p. I'm still deciding. I see these tvs every day, but if you talk to any salesperson they will all have different favorites.
MY OPINION if you want a kick ass big screen and money isnt an issue, buy the Mitsubishi 65" diamond series.
Denon is nice but check into Sunfire.
ps. no more snivlin. if you like plasma, my top 3 plasmas 1.pioneer(elite or not, they both kick ass),2.samsung,3.hitachi
