Default set-up and advice

Hey gang. I realize this is a noobish type thread, so I believe it belongs in the noob discussion.
I currently own a KDS-50A2000, Full HD Sony tv. Unfortunatly I have no idea where this tv stands on the current quality of tv's. So basically im asking you guys to rate my tv, I believe its pretty good, but I want to hear from the pros (most of the posters here seem to be quite intelligent anyways).
Next, I was wondering what you guys would reccomend for my next step. Im looking to ''pimp'' my audio because I currently dont have any speakers besides the one on the tv itself. So if someone could guide me towards what would be a good way to go for speakers that would be great (at a ''reasonable'' amout of $).
Lastly, I was wondering if anyone knows what settings my tv is best on and/or how it should be collaborated to get the most out of my tv.
Thanks in advance everyone, I realise this is probably very noobish, but we all gotta start somewhere.
