Still humorous but surprised (not in a bad way) how much more serious the tone seems compared to Drive-Away Dolls. The Coens always vacillated between very different tones, but I was wondering if Ethan's solo stuff might all be as kooky as that and I guess the answer is no!

Looks good but Drop Away Dolls had horrible editing. Like film student using MovieMaker editing software levels of bad. So I'm hoping Ethan and Tricia leveled up for this one.

I’m cautiously optimistic as the film looks a little more restrained and handled than Drive-Away Dolls. But I also remember looking at Drive Away Dolls and thinking that’ll be fun, and the end result was agonisingly smug.

I feel like all the goofy fun energy is from Ethan and all the nuanced artistry is from Joel. They need each other.

That said, I'm in!

Better than most of the modern movies these days.

Drive-Away Dolls was awful and this doesn’t look good either. It’s become crystal clear that Joel is the one with the real directing talent. Ethan, please go back to working with your brother.
