I’ve got the ridiculously oversized SC set but this steelbook looks lovely. Tempted to offload the former and get this instead.

FINALLY! Glad I didn't pay three digits for the OOP Criterion when it came up on my local radar recently.

Joseph Cotten deserves to be on the cover, too.

Hmm, I vastly prefer the UK artwork. Might just wait for a standard version of that depending on how this is priced.

Agreed! Exactly what I first thought! Kinda hate the art, but there's no law against putting these discs in my old Criterion Blu-ray case.

While I was hoping this would return to Criterion, given how strong the UK 4K release was, looks like a good upgrade.

Default The Third Man Back In The USA

Yeah, I can't say I've ever seen that style of type used in conjunction with The Third Man, but have seen similarly styled titling for mid-century French and Italian films. I would be curious to hear from the artist in regard to their thoughts on the matter and related intentions.

I own the UK LE set, and it's an all-round great package, including the artwork and related design, but I was hoping for a smashing, non-LG Limited, US set as well, especially a return to Criterion.

That out of the way, if this is priced reasonably, I just might pick it up.

But if it's priced much like some of their other offerings, I'll likely pass and hopefully something better will come along in the future.

Regardless, the new restoration is a keeper, and that's what matters for those who don't already have it in hand.

For some reason I have never seen The Third Man. Guess a blind buy is in order.

I'm excited for you; you're in for a treat. One of the best! B&W cinematography on par with Citizen Kane.
