Default Rob Enderle strikes again....

this time being quoted as the hi-def "expert" on this article @ MSNBC...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23262620/

Why does this guy keep getting press? The war is over and he is still trying to spread FUD.

And why doesn't any reporters check to make sure that their sources aren't totally biased.

Downloads are so... far down the road. BD will be adopted by the masses by then and it will be Downloads that have to overcome BD, not the other way around.

I really haven't been keeping up on things, how did his ipod prediction turn out?

I guess his M$ overlords haven't given him a new script yet.

Interesting... we still have an S1 playing at work on demo just fine. Plays old, new, whatever we throw in it. I guess 'obsolete' means it will still play any and all BD's just fine.

Pass the blunt, Mr. Enderle, you've had enough.

Which doesn't obviate the fact that Enderle has clearly been, and continues to be, a paid shill. Complaints about the objectivity of his "opinions" are entirely justified.

Gawd, which idiot media companies still hire him? This shill just makes up stuff in his article. I don't think he should be writing news articles on tech. He's rather good at writing fiction

Of course, we all read this a while back (and for those who haven't...) when he predicted the death of Blu Ray back in 2006. Lol what a moron.

Pundits are shills. That's what they're paid to do. Whether they belong to a "group" or "institute", none of them should be trusted to do anything but push the agenda of whoever is paying the bills this week. This goes for all sizes shapes, colors and creeds of pundit

Ignore list + 1. Gosh, my ignore list sure has been growing quick around here since the Paramount news.

We really are going to let just about anyone in here now, aren't we?...

There are good reasons to wait. Among them are the cost of the players, which range between $400 and $500 and are expected to remain at that level in the months ahead
Does anyone really need expertise in tech to make a statement like this?? Why quote a douchebag when it's rather common sense. Of course technology gets cheaper over time....

Sad but true.

I guess since the format war is officially over, the perception is that everyone supports Blu-ray and should be allowed to post here.

Unfortunately that isn't the case.

Enderle is a bullshitter, and not a very good one at that.

"If you bought a Blu-ray player last year, chances are you could wind up buying another one next year as well. That’s because most stand-alone Blu-ray players are essentially version 1.0 and not upgradeable.

And you will be wanting to upgrade, “otherwise you’ll have an obsolete product next year,” said Enderle."

What a complete load of crap.

I suppose it's the price of success. (?)

At least these format war strays are easy to spot. They want to talk about watching movies any way as long as it isn't Blu-ray. For example:

Upscaled DVD
Download
Broadcast HD
Some future unspecified format (but better than Blu-ray of course)

Nothing wrong with talking about these subjects per se but a few people go on about them ad nauseum. Maybe the mods could set up a sub-forum called 'Anything But Blu-ray' and we can shunt all the crap into there.

They just stagger around bumping into things and howling. Just leave the closet door open, once they stagger inside, just jam it shut with the couch, sit down, and watch a movie.

The only time I get irritated is when they try to have sex with the blender. It's just not sanitary.
