Default New T.V for PS3 question

Hello all. Within the next couple of months I will be getting a new HD TV for my bedroom and PS3. My room and the placement of where the t.v has to go is as such that I can only get a 32 in. My first question is should I bother with a 1080p set that is only 32in? and if so what would you recommend. Also if I sould get 1080i what are you reccomendations for that as well. My budget will only be 1,000 to 1,200 also. Thanks

The difference between 1080i and 1080p becomes more noticeable the larger the TV gets. Crutchfield does a good job of comparing TVs. They are not the cheapest, but they are reliable and give good service.

For that budget, I would say get a 720p/1080i set. You can get a much better performing 720p/1080i TV for that amount of money. Plus, since most games are 720p, they will look better at that TV's native resolution.

IMO, you can't get a pretty good 1080p set for that price, but you are welcome to try, of course. Then, you can save up for a proper 1080p TV (or wait for a price drop) at a later point in time.

I suggest looking on CNET for a set.

We have a forum here called "HDTV Discussion" where your question would probably be better answered.

Anyway, for that size and price range, a 720p/1080i will suit you fine.

for a 32", I'd stick with 720P LCD. 1080P is not necessary for that screen size.

I got one of these and am pretty impressed:

Dynex® - 32" Flat-Panel LCD HDTV ($499)

...has a built in HD tuner for free OTA HD channels. Also it looks sleek as sh*t.

My PS3 looked amazing on it.

(use the extra money and get another PS3 or a new Receiver. )

Yeah, something like that would be a good 720p/1080i TV.
