Defective receiver? - Blu-ray Forum

i just purchased a sony str-dg510 and as soon as i hooked everything up i realized that the sub woofer is not registering....i tried my other sub woofer on the reciever and that didnt work either....does this mean that the reciever has a bad woofer connection or am i missing something

not sure, some receivers have a yes no, for if you are using a sub

but the display screen shows that the subwoofer is being used

then I would think it's the receiver, try the sub on a friends receiver first and see if the amp in the sub is good, that is if the sub is using an amp, if the sub works, I would think it's the receiver
