Default home theater advice

Could someone please tell me what you think of this setup I am considering.

Own:

Sony BDP-S500

Considering getting this:

Sony STR DA 3300 ESB (reciver) http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/p...roduct_ID/3552

Speakers: http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProdu...ry=HFC+Speaker

So what you think. ?

I generally don't care too much for Sony speakers. There are a lot of smaller speaker sets like that one available . . . JBL has some pretty good sets.

I have a full Sony setup and sounds incredible... I bought the higher end individual ones though not a whole set in a box, so I can't speak for those... I know there is better out there if you want to spend more, but I have stood by Sony since I started buying anything home theater and it has never disappointed. As for the receiver, I have the 4300 and I love it, if you are willing to pay the little bit extra for the 4300 over the 3300 it does have the ability to decode TrueHD and DTS-HDMA...

Edit: looks like the 3300 does TrueHD and DTS-HDMA, so nevermind on that part...

Edit 2: That ad is misleading... it says if your player decodes it, this receiver will play it as PCM, so again, back to my original message.

It's a decent receiver, but I don't know where to compare it price-wise (because I'm not sure about the exchange rate)

Check out the Denon 2308 AV Reciever,

And the Def Tech Promon 600 5.1 Cinema Speaker System, from Best Buy, good system for under $1500
