Default Were you fully, I mean FULLY backing Blu-ray from day 1?

As in, from the first day you heard about Blu-Ray?

I always wanted it win - starting from like 2 years or so ago when I heard about it.

Most definitely without a doubt. I knew the PS3 had Blu ray along with everything else it offered and knew that was the way to go.

I didn't, could not afford to. I waited until there was, in my mind, a clear winner. This happened with the Warner announcement (for me), I didn't upgrade until January '08.

I reserached and compared the technical details and knew Blu-ray is the one.
I guess I'm too smart.

I definately wanted it to become the victor when I saw how it was better than HD DVD. I did have my concerns early on due to naming conventions, people not know what blu-ray was, yadda yadda.

Had a brief lapse of hope when I found out MS supported HD DVD, so I waited. I had a brief lapse of faith when Paramount defected. Mostly out of anger. Thank GOD for Disney. Everyone buys Disney and they were a powerful allie. And thank God for Warner for taking that bold step. But yes, always had my vote.

If I waited and BD lost, I would begrudedly adopt HD DVD in time. But as a BD owner, I would have given up on movies and moved on with my life. If the sucky, cheaper technology wins, you know the cards were dealt from the bottom. My allegience to HD DVD was ever so brief before I knew better.

I got a PS3 on launch day, mainly for Blu-ray... and never doubted the format.

Sold my entire DVD collection back in spring of 05 strictly to back Blu-ray. Best decision I made. I sold over 900 movies and made 3 grand off it all. Good luck trying to get half of that now for the same amount of movies.

Picked up a ps3 day it was launched and started my collection that very same week.

I was backing the PS3 from day one, so it was Blu-ray by default.

Blu-ray was the first hi-def format I've seen regardless of HD-DVD being first on the market. When I first saw blu-ray with my own eyes at Best Buy, I told myself that I was going to get someday and I sure did. Back then, an ordinary blu-ray player was about $999.99 retail price.

Liked what I seen and read about.
Wanted a new laptop and seen the VGN-AR190G in June of 2006 - but I was short on cash.
Jan 1st 2007 came and I bought one.

This *IS* a Blu Planet, right?

Like others, read the technical stuff about both formats and blu-ray just seemed so obvious. Then when it was announced in the PS3, I assumed it would win. Bought a PS3 within a week of launch.

I knew it had superior features, but initial titles did not show off it's potential. In my mind the two formats were equal, and I didn't care who won.

As my Blu-ray and HD DVD collection grew I began to see the difference, and hear the difference. Once I realized that, I backed Blu-ray fully.

But sadly, no. I didn't back it from day one.

Should I have? Probably yes.
