Sony blu-ray player @ best buy - Blu-ray Forum

I have a ps3 but want a standalone also..i keep the ps3 upstairs and want a standalone for the living room to go with my surround sound set up. They had a sony blu-ray player for 249...i dunno what model it was tho..If anyone sees the best buy add today check the blu-ray player that is 249 and let me know if its worth it?

I know it said 2.0 player...I mean i just want to know does it load fairly decent and will it play all movies

its the S360, I got the S350 and I love it... really good load time and playability

Best Buy has the Pioneer BDP-51fd on clearance for 149.99 right now if yours has any left. It's an excellent player, despite the semi-slow load times.

I've had the S360 since it was released for a couple of months now and it's been a solid player. Great picture and sound quality and has played everything to date. It's quick on loading also. They just added an update to the player that let's you connect a 320GB WD usb hard drive for BD Live if that's your thing.

S360 is a good player, although I'd also consider either the Panasonic BD-60 or BD-80. Amazon has the BD-60 for under $200, and the BD-80 is $265. I've got a S350 and BD-55 and really like both so I think the Sony or Panasonic are good companies.

Sony and Panasonic are the most reliable, imo. The 360 is a solid unit. Compared to the Panny BD60, I think the 360 is a bit faster on loading and it handles java menus better.

If you live near a Sony outlet store, you can pick up a refurbished S350 for only $129. It's a solid player.
