Red face Upgrade advice! please

I plan on getting a PS3 I don't care if its' the 40g or not. I'm only going to use it for bluray movies anyway. But here's my small delima.

Do you all think I should save up and buy a PS3 and then sell my sammy 1400 to recoop my cost?

Or

Do you think I should sell my sammy 1400 and use that money plus the little bit I have saved now and get a PS3

I plan on getting one off ebay just because thats the only way for me I can get a PS3 cheap enough for me and also to get rid of my sammy. Mainly because people in my area aren't big enough into blu just quite yet (which is really a shame )

Any thought or advice would be apprecieated (never could learn to spell that right)

Well...that's a tough one there.

I'd recommend that you keep what you have now until you can save up for a PS3.

Reasons for this...
1) You already have a functional Blu-ray player
2) If you sold it first and used those funds to buy a PS3 you would be without a player for a while
3) Thou shalt only upgrade when you can afford it

I'd be careful also about buying a PS3 off of eBay. Make sure you are getting it from a trusted seller.

Do whatever isn't going to get you in a hole financially at this point. But I was in Blockbuster yesterday and the manager and I were talking and he said the 20gb PS3 were reduced down to $299. Not sure if that's a good price or not since I'm not in the market for one, but just passing it along.

Yea I know what you mean about financial deals. I'm not worried about being wihtout a player for a bit. LOL. I'm more worried about getting a PS3, so that I won't have any more issues wiht having a movie that won't freakin play 100% wihtout waiting a decade or two for a new FW update. I'm sure you all know what I mean by that. I'm just stuck between on what to do. I guess I'm looking for pro's and con's from you vetrans out there wh have been in my situation.

The PS3 isn't the end-all, be-all player FWIW.

Maany of us have other model players and never have an issue with them. I do understand your frustration though!
