Default Problem: MW2 blutooth headset

I have bought myself a bluetooth madcatz headset (the MW2 one), and can't get it to connect to my ps3 and have left my ps3 scanning for an hour (wel I put it on scan and walked away and forgot about it, but when I got back it was stil scanning and had not recognized the device). I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or ideas as to how I could get this working.

crazy question but did you put the headset into scan mode as well? they both have to be scanning in order to find each other

according to the manual, you need to hold the headset call button for at least 8 seconds. The headset led will alternate from blue to red when it is ready to be paired. Sounds to me that you aren't holding the button long enough. Instructions from manual listed below. Hope this helps

1. Power ON your PS3 console.
2. Within the “Settings” menu, press X on “Accessory Settings.”
3. Press X on the icon labeled: “Manage Bluetooth Devices.”
4. Press X on “Yes” to pair (register) the headset with the PS3 system.
5. Ensure the USB Charge Cable is unplugged.
6. Once at the next screen, prepare the Headset to be paired with the PS3
by holding down the Call button for 8 seconds.
7. Once the Headset’s LED indicator is alternately flashing Blue and Red
(indicating the Headset is ready to be paired), press X on “Start
Scanning.” (if another device is paired or you are going through the
pairing process again, choose “Yes” to overwrite the currently
registered device and then choose “Start Scanning”)
8. Once Scan is complete, the PS3 will recognize all Bluetooth devices
within range.
9. Locate “8860E” from the list of available devices and press X on its icon
to be prompted for a Pass Key.
10. Enter 0000 (four zeros) as the Pass Key and press X on OK.
11. Press O twice to go back two screens. Press X on the “Audio Device
Settings” icon. Press X on the “Input Device” icon and select “8860E”
a. The voice meter will fluctuate when the Headset is active. This
indicates the Headset is connected.
b. Set the Microphone level to 1 to eliminate feedback.
c. This will complete the pairing process.
12. When changing games or resetting the console, go to the “Audio Device
Settings” menu and ensure the Headset is being detected before
starting the game. If it’s not being detected, repeat step 11 (eleven)

^ Fixed the problem, thankyou, my manual oddly doesn't say wait for it to flash blue then red, just that it will flash blue and make an audible beep (which it doesn't). Maybe my manual is mistakingly for a different headset the company makes (as they also gave me a different pass key instead of 0000 which didn't work).
