Default First Look at "Watchmen" Cast

Click here to check out the main players, all suited-and-superheroed-up, of Warner Bros. Pictures and writer/director Zack Snyder's "Watchmen," based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore. The film hits theaters March 6, 2009.

Beautiful! Very good transition from comic to film, and modernized without sacrificing too much. Silk looks a little... over the top... but acceptable.

Does anyone else think that Nite Owl looks like Midnighter?

Yes, but they're both takes on Batman of course. The Midnighter is a superhero from the Authority comics. They're actually really cool comics, but his character is gay along with Apollo who is a Superman type character. You might be thinking that's really weird, but it's not too overt...they were just trying to be different I suppose.

Actually, Nite Owl was spun from Charlton's Blue Beetle.

The Watchmen storyline was originally intended to use the Charlton Heroes but their integration into the DC universe nixed that idea so Moore created new characters.

Nite Owl = Blue Beetle
Rorschach = the Question
Dr. Manhattan = Captain Atom
Ozymandias = Thunderbolt
Comedian = Peacemaker
Silk Spectre = Phantom Lady

Every shot I've seen so far is looking great. God, I hope they don't screw it up. I don't envy 'em trying to get that story down to two or so hours of film time.
